NEW HOLLAND OFFERS THREE NEW ECONOMY DISC MOWERS

New Holland, PA (September 1, 2005) - New Holland’s new disc mowers are an economical choice that delivers fast, dependable cutting performance. Available in three sizes ranging from 5’6” to 7’11” cutting widths, these disc mowers slice cleanly through thick, wet crops, even at high speeds.

Low profile, oval-shaped cutting discs use two knives per disc to slice through wet grasses and break through nuisance fire ant hills and gopher mounds. The knives, made of high-quality steel, are double-edged and reversible for twice the cutting life. Rock guards and skid shoes protect the discs and carry the cutterbar over uneven ground.

The HM Series offers a number of features that help make it dependable yet affordable. An enclosed gear-driven cutterbar is designed to provide years of reliable service. And the 540-rpm PTO driveline with overrunning clutch protects the driveline and makes hook-up easy.

An adjustable flotation spring allows the operator to change cutterbar ground pressure and a spring-loaded breakaway latch protects the cutterbar by allowing it to swing back if an object blocks the cutter path.

At the end of each pass,a single-acting hydraulic cylinder makes it easy to lift the cutterbar and a right-side swath divider wheel separates each cut path.

With the three-point mounting, two adjustable parking stands and a storage support for the PTO shaft, it’s a simple process to attach and remove an HM Series disc mower from the tractor. The disc mowers lock in transport position for ease in transporting the mower between fields.
