BR7070 ROUND BALER PRODUCES TIGHT, 4’x6’ ROTO-CUT BALES

New Holland, PA (August 2, 2007) -  To meet the growing market for larger cut bales, New Holland has introduced the BR7070 CropCutter™ model, capable of producing 4’x 6‘ roto-cut round bales. Whether baling dry hay, silage, or straw for bedding, combining baling and cutting operations in one process reduces operator labor investment, improves efficiency, and results in higher-quality bale production.

The CropCutter™ rotary feeding and cutting system is unique to the BR7070. This rotary cutting system, equipped with up to 15 knives, cuts crop as it is fed into the baler. Any combination of knives may be used to achieve the desired length of cut in various crops.

With all 15 knives installed, the BR7070 can cut hay as short as 2.5 inches. CropCutter bales are denser and heavier due to the smaller particle length. In silage, this increased compaction means less air in the bale, resulting in better fermentation. In straw, it results in easier spreading and increased absorbency. No matter what the crop, bales made with CropCutter put more crop in every bale—translating to fewer bales per field, fewer bales to transport and store, and less net wrap or twine usage.

BR7000 Series Round Baler Improvements for Model Year 2008

  • A new hydraulic bale ejector ramp is available as a dealer-installed option for the BR7070 and BR7090 models.  This new ramp uses a one-way hydraulic cylinder that allows the ramp to instantly move down when the tailgate is raised and bale comes out.  When the tailgate is closed, the ramp quickly rises back to the home position and the bale is pushed away from the tailgate, allowing the tailgate to close.
  • Stronger shot-peened tines replace the previous music wire tines on all pickups (except the BR7050 and BR7060 Standard). These new tines last longer and are more durable in tough conditions. They are curved for optimal crop lifting.
  • For improved bale formation, the bale chamber now has two formed ribbed rolls, which replace two dimple rolls. These formed ribbed rolls are made of thicker steel and have improved life and durability.
  • There is one less spreader roll to improve net loading and spread. The reduction in rolls provides a more even flow of the net for smoother, more uniform net spread.
