Items To Check Before Running In The Field

Combine Checks
1. Header attachment handle properly secured
2. PTO shaft hooked up
3. Hydraulic & electrical hooked up
4. Front drum position set for crop type
5. Smooth return covers installed. (Corn & Bean) Spiked for small grain.
(NOTE: There is a left and right side).
6. Chaff spreader in operating position. Turn on speed adjustment for
crop type.
7. Standard chopper: Set the chopper baffle door for the crop type
Deluxe chopper: Set door and draper belt for crop type
8. Bubble up auger in operating position & grain bin extensions
up & secured
9. Check all fluid levels in engine area including hydraulic fluid,
engine oil and coolant
10. Ladder UP
11. All shields & clean out doors installed
12. Check all belts for proper tension
13. Check all gear boxes oil levels.
14. Lubricate grease zerks at proper intervals InfoView™ Settings
15. Program the road info screen to show the following [Pg. 2-89 2-91]:
A. ACS status: on or off
B. Header height sensitivity: NOTE: To adjust, the feeder and threshing clutch must be engaged.
C. Header tilt sensitivity: NOTE: To adjust, the feeder and threshing clutch must be engaged.
D. Crop type: Allows you to select crop type without selecting a job. (NOTE: This only works when there are no jobs in the InfoView.)
E. Stone trap sensitivity: Starting point on sensitivity setting for crop type: corn #20-30; soybean and small grain 80-90. Zero is off.
Option 1: Program into the road info screen (NOTE: Use this if not using Auto Crop Settings) [Pg. 2-90]

16. Program leaf 1 screen (main info) with engine load,
engine rpm or rotor speed, moisture, yield [Pg.2-91 2-92]
17. Performance funnels: Sensitivity starting point 30-50. Readjust
after combine is set.
18. Program leaf 2 screen (custom info) with combine setting
info. (Sieve openings, concave clearance etc.) [Pg. 2-92] InfoView Settings: Header Settings (Pg.2-124; 2-135)

NOTE: Hold the (R) button and listen for a beep while the feeder
and threshing clutch are engaged.
23. Reel to ground speed synchronization [Pg.3 -25 3-26 & 2-130
2-131] or manual setting using the +- key on the multifunction
handle. (In field operation) or Auto off setting.
Machine Settings
24. Set the combine settings with manual controls: use the slide
rule or Operator's Manual [Pg. 3-10 3-12]
Example: Set the upper and lower sieves, concave clearance,
rotor speed.
Combine Performance Checks
NOTE: If the combine is not performing to your satisfaction it
may be necessary to perform a kill stall in the crop. See below.
25. Do a kill stall (Refer to [Pg. 3-13] )
Important: Refer to the performance indicators before adjusting the machine.
Rule of thumb: make one adjustment at a time, then check
and see if it solved the problem
Important: Lower concave before you engage threshing clutch.
When restarting after the kill stall, you might have to hold
down on the engine throttle switch to full while engaging the
thresher clutch. Caution: This procedure may cause belt
damage, if the cylinder or beaters don't turn freely.
26. Set the sensitivity on the performance funnels until the neck
is blackened in. [Pg. 2-48 2-49]
InfoView Settings: Auto-Crop Settings
27. After the combine is performing correctly set the Auto-Crop
Setting (ACS)
Option 1: Saving user settings in ACS on the go. [Pg. 2-83]
A. Go to the road mode and highlight the auto-crop setting
icon. Hit "Enter" to turn ACS on.
NOTE: The mode you are in is displayed on the right-hand
corner of the screen: 1, 2, or H will appear.
B. Go to leaf one while harvesting the crop.
1. Hit "Enter"
2. Save current settings
3. Confirm
At this screen you can select a different crop and mode.
Option 2: Saving settings while stationary.
A. Turn ACS on (road info screen or go to arrow in the box
and then combine last selection)
B. Set the job, crop and mode. [Pg. 2-82 2-87] (NOTE: It is
recommended to turn the headland mode to NONE until
well understood by the operator.)

28. Harvest Info screen: Selecting a job, viewing a job, instantaneous
harvest values. [Pg 2-51 2-59].
29. Calibrate the yield & moisture monitoring [Pg.2-60- 2-70]
30. Set the hydraulic flow control setting to adjust proper spreader
width after running. |
