Demographics of growers attending the 2002 Commodity
Classic who completed a registration form:
Average total acres 1,812
Average corn acres 759
Average soybean acres 784
Average age 53
Demographics such as these are important, not
only to the farmers who attend the Classic but to the soybean
and corn industries in general. With this valuable information
that describes the caliber of farmers attending the Classic, agribusinesses
are encouraged to exhibit the latest in tech-
nology and innovations in agriculture, plus provide seminars with
information that will meet the needs of all the attendees. And,
the associations make use of these demographic statistics when
inviting legislators to attend or speak at the convention, bringing
high-level information regarding important legislative and regulatory
issues facing agriculture.
Thats why New Holland supports the ASA and
NCGA in gathering this essential information. New Holland donates
a lawn and garden tractor as the prize in a drawing exclusively
for producers who take the time to fill out the optional demographic
information on their registration form for the Commodity Classic.
