New Holland BR Series Balers Selected as Incentive for NCBA State Affiliate

From the very moment the New Holland BR Series balers were unveiled last year, it was quite clear the new line of round balers would improve performance, not only for the hay and forage producer, but also for their livestock. That’s expected, since New Holland has a legacy as the premier provider of hay and forage equipment.

But now, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) is presenting a new challenge to the BR Series’ capabilities: they’re calling on the new baler to help further improve the performance of the NCBA membership drive during 2003. While there is little doubt that the membership drive will be anything less than successful, the NCBA wanted to add an extra special incentive for good measure.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Ann Veneman and New Holland representative Dean Morrell pose with the New Holland BR round baler. A years free use of two of these balers will be awarded in the state affiliate membership drive.

So, during the 2003 Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show in Nashville, the NCBA announced a partnership program with New Holland to offer a year’s use of two BR round balers as prizes in a contest to help boost NCBA membership among state cattle association affiliates. Any state affiliate that increases its NCBA membership numbers by 10% over the previous year, or who increases their NCBA membership revenue by 10%, will be placed in a drawing to win the year’s use.

Some 6,000 beef producers and supporters attended the January 2003 Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show in Nashville, TN.

Currently, NCBA consists of about 33,000 individual members, 45 state cattle associations and 17 national breed and industry organizations. Together these organizations represent more than 230,000 cattle breeders, producers and feeders. But there’s plenty of room for more, leaders say. The power of a strong membership will strengthen the NCBA’s role as the marketing organization and trade association for America’s cattle farmers and ranchers. As a consumer-focused, producer-directed organization, the NCBA advances the economic, political and social interests of the U.S. cattle business.

The state affiliate drawing for each New Holland BR round baler will be held at the 2004 NCBA Annual Cattlemen’s Convention in Phoenix, AZ.
