New CR combine show its stuff
to Cornhuskers
New Hollands new CR970 combine caught the eyes of growers
during field demonstrations in the central Nebraska area. In irrigated
corn yields up to 225 bushels per acre, the CR didnt miss
a beat, producing exceptional capacity and a consistent ability
to turn out clean, un-cracked samples. In fact, after adjustment,
every load from the CR970 made the premium for food grade corn.

Farmers had the chance to see New Hollands new
CR970 combine in action during the corn harvest in central
Nebraska.Its a tremendous machine, says
grain producer John Beshler, who attended the field demonstration.

John Beshler, who farms 4,500 acres of corn, wheat, soybeans
and alfalfa near Arnold, Nebraska attended a demo. Capacity-wise,
its a tremendous machine, says John. We were running
5.5 to 6 mph with a twelve-row head and we couldnt max it out.
Its got a lot of nice features, too. You adjust the sieves and
so forth right from the cab. You hardly have to get out. It did a good
job over a wide range of settings cleaned the corn well and didnt
crack it. Its right up there with the best combines.
Dan Carl, who grows 4,000 acres of irrigated corn near
North Platte, and custom harvests another 1,800 acres, particularly
liked the unloading system. It was phenomenal how fast it unloaded
compared to our Deere combine. And the auger had good clearance over
the grain carts, too. Thats a big thing with us because weve
got a lot of sandy, rough pivots. I was really impressed with the self-leveling
system. On side hills, capacity and grain quality stayed real good because
the downhill side didnt get overloaded. New Holland has a pretty
good combine there.
