USDA Secretary holds town hall meeting in New Holland

During a whirlwind tour this summer, USDA Secretary Ann Veneman traveled throughout the country making stops in Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado and Pennsylvania to hold Town Hall Meetings and hear what was on the minds of farmers. One of her stops was in New Holland, Pennsylvania, home to the world’s largest baler plant.

In her remarks to an audience of more than 200 farmers, dealers, FFA students and company employees, including company CEO Paolo Monferino and New Holland president Tom Kennedy, Secretary Veneman talked about the importance of international trade, efforts to heighten food security, and the 2002 U.S. Farm Bill.
