First TG tractor sold to Nebraska farmer

When Craig Bengston ordered a New Holland TG210 tractor, little did he know that he would be the owner of the first TG tractor ever sold. In honor of the occasion, New Holland invited Craig and his wife, Denise, and their New Holland dealer to the new, state-of-the-art Racine Manufacturing Operations plant to accept the keys to the tractor. They also came to have a first-hand look at the quality, care and pride that goes into producing New Holland TG tractors.

The Bengstons, who farm 600 acres of irrigated corn and soybeans in Hastings, Nebraska, ordered their tractor late last summer. After shopping around, Craig felt the features and horsepower delivery of the TG tractor were an exceptional fit for his operation.

“Farming 8-row, 30-inch spacing, the narrow front end and the SuperSteer™ front axle were a ‘must have’ for me,” Craig said. “The armrest controls are handy, the cab has excellent visibility and the four-wheel assist operates very smoothly.”

The first new Holland TG tractor to be sold rolled off the assembly line in Racine, Wisconsin, in December 2002.

Craig and Denise Bengston were given the VIP treatment as they toured the Racine Manufacturing Operations plant where the TG tractor is made. Peter Caddick, Plant Product Quality and Behavior Manager, proudly escorted them on a tour of the facility.

Plant tour

Before they were handed the keys, the Bengstons toured the plant that manufactures the tractors in Racine, Wisconsin.

“A producer doesn’t get an opportunity like this very often, and to see everything that goes into making the tractor was real interesting, “ said Craig. “It demonstrated that New Holland is serious about providing a quality product, and the fact that I was invited to see the operation first-hand means something.”
